The Vision

God is moving in mighty ways today throughout the world. In many different countries and all levels of society we’re experiencing a great renewal of spiritual fervor. This tremendous stirring of the Holy Spirit is sweeping untold multitudes of new believers into God’s kingdom. These new Christians desperately need spiritual homes and spiritual families to grow and mature in their new faith. One of the aspects of this spiritual renewal is a revival of interest in small group ministry as described in the New Testament and which has been a part of revivals ever since. Home groups have a tremendous capacity to reach all people. God is using home groups to penetrate social, political and economic barriers around the world.

More particularly, we at Home Fellowship Leaders International, see the home group as the way of nurturing these new believers toward spiritual maturity. With special weekly lessons new believers can act as a host or hostess to conduct home meetings. Our materials will take anyone who has the desire to share the Good News and enable them to start a home fellowship as a host or hostess and with time develop into spiritual family, then spiritual grandparents, in the church of Jesus Christ.

We are dedicated to providing these materials, at no cost, to challenge home groups to grow and multiply, to reach out to those around them and spread the Good News of Jesus Christ. We desperately need other believers to surround us with care and concern, to help us get apprenticed trained so that we can become, and make, disciples of Jesus Christ. (Mt. 28:19 “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations…”)

Take note that the Bible does not tell us to go out and make Christians; it tells us to go out and make disciples, disciples of Jesus Christ not ourselves. The concept involves practical training, just as Jesus trained His disciples.

The lessons will teach about growing from a new believer to being a disciple of Jesus Christ. Believers can learn what it means to have a relationship with Jesus Christ, and all the blessings that come with that relationship.

Our materials are available to all home group leaders, leaders with new believers, those affiliated with churches, those not affiliated with churches and to those home group leaders that minister to what we call “wounded eagles”. These are people who have, at some time or another, been hurt in relationships with Christians or have come to believe that God is not there for them.

We know that God wants everyone to be a disciple of Jesus Christ. A universal fellowship of disciples is what we believe in, regardless of church affiliation. Jesus said, “Where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I in the midst of them.” (Mt. 18:20) We believe this is the church, when Christ is in our midst.

God said, “I will build my church.” (Mt. 16:18) He also said, “I will write the law on their hearts.” (He. 8:10) The vision is that God will establish thousands of new churches using home fellowships as the vehicle with the anointing of the Holy Spirit.

This is what is happening in China, the Sudan and many other places around the world. In these countries, despite persecution, millions of new Christians are being swept into the Kingdom of God through home fellowships.
