Introduction

We have just seen one of God’s most astounding prophecies come to pass. Here is the word the Lord spoke, through His prophet Isaiah, more than 2,700 years ago:

In the day of great slaughter, when the towers fall, streams of water will flow on every high mountain and every lofty hill.

Isaiah 30:25 (NIV)

The first part of this prophecy was fulfilled on September 11, 2001, when the twin towers of the World Trade Center were brought down by a terrorist attack. The smashing of hijacked air- planes into the buildings ... the collapse of the towers ... people leaping to their deaths from office windows a quarter-mile above street level ... all this was captured by TV cameras for the world to see. And, after seeing all this, no one can doubt that God’s Word of Prophecy is a sure and certain declaration of what will come to pass in this world.

But there is a second part to this prophecy: “Streams of water will flow on every high mountain and every lofty hill.” In fact, this second part – not the fall of the towers – is the heart of the prophecy. God is telling us, “When you see the towers fall, when you finally understand that everything that I say will happen will happen, then you can look for streams of My water to flow, from My mountains and hills, down to a dry and desperate world.”

In the Bible, the term “streams of water” is often used to symbolize the outpouring of the Holy Spirit of God. Jesus used this very term when He promised to pour His Spirit into the world through Christian believers:

In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Spirit was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)

John 7:37-39 (KJV)

This second part of the Isaiah 30:25 prophecy is also coming to pass before the eyes of an amazed world. From every high mountain and every lofty hill – that is, from every Christian ministry, large or small, that hears and obeys the voice of the Lord – rivers of living water are pouring forth. In the power of the Holy Spirit, God’s people are telling this lost and dying world, “Jesus is coming soon to take His people home to Heaven with Him. And when He does, everything in this world is going to crash and crumble away – just like those twin towers did!”

This book is one of those streams of water that God is pouring forth today, so people will turn to His Son Jesus ... place their faith in Him, and be saved from death and hell ... and live their lives in this world the way God intends life to be lived.

Just how does God want people (whom He created in the first place) to live?

In personal relationships – with Him; with His Son; and with other Christians.

In loving obedience to His Word – which releases His power in His people, shows forth His glory, and enables Him to share His glory with His people.

And in a solid hope of eternal life with God in Heaven. Not a false hope based on wishful thinking; but a sure hope, based on the knowledge that the God who prophesied the fall of man’s mighty twin towers, can also fulfill every one of the promises that He makes to you in His Holy Word, the Bible.

We offer you this book, along with our prayer that you will enter in to a personal relation-ship with the God who created you and loves you ... that you will walk in the power and glory of the living God for all your days on this earth ... and that you will finally inherit the eternal reward that God has prepared for all who truly love Him.
