Saved from the Wolf
A testimony from Vladimir Anishchenko

I traveled to a home group in an outlying village. At this time I had no vehicle so I walked everywhere. As I was getting ready to leave the people gave me potatoes, carrots and beets to take home. I packed them all in a bag to carry with me on my journey home. As I was traveling it began to snow and then the wind picked up. Soon the snow was blowing so hard I couldn’t see more than a meter (one yard) in any direction. It was beginning to get dark. I had to travel five kilometers (3 miles) through the woods from Tiaga and then follow the road another 26 kilometers about 16 miles) to Izhevsk.

All of a sudden I was knocked to the ground. A wolf had knocked me over and bit the bag I was carrying. He got some of the potatoes. I was very scared and tried to keep my wits about me. In the springtime it is not unusual for the wolves to come out of the woods and eat the dogs that are chained outside. I could hear the wolf snarling but I could not see him because of the snow. I was in shock. My whole body shook, even my teeth. I was afraid the wolf would attack again and I would die.

I started praying and God answered me then and there. The Holy Spirit said, “Stand up and go.” I stood and continued on. When the snow began to let up I could see the wolf not three meters (10 feet) from me. The wolf continued to follow me and kept that distance until I reached a place where I could get the bus to Izhevsk.

The driver told me he couldn’t take the beast along. I told him it was not my wolf and he opened the door for me to climb aboard. I jumped in quickly and he slammed the door shut.

I know that some of the hairs on my head turned white that day. I praise God for Salvation. God my Rescuer. Hallelujah.
